Khaberni - Actress Zeina stirred considerable controversy on social media recently when pictures of her with actor Amr Mehdi, both dressed in wedding attire, were circulated, leading some to believe that the pair had actually married.
The photos spread widely before it was later revealed that they were from behind the scenes of filming the series "Roses and Chocolate", which is currently being shown on the "Yango Play" platform.
In her first comment, Zeina expressed her astonishment at the spread of the rumor, saying, "I was astonished by people's reaction who believed I got married, as if I were a burden on their hearts."
Zeina confirmed that her relationship with Amr Mehdi is purely professional, emphasizing that the scene which caused the uproar is part of the series' plot, and urged the audience not to follow rumors without verifying their source.
For his part, actor Amr Mehdi clarified in statements to Egyptian news sites that the widely shared photos were taken during the filming of a wedding scene within the series, saying, "Zeina is a big star, and it's natural for the public to be interested in her news. During the filming of the scene, photos were taken and sent to one of the sites, then spread quickly, and some believed it was a real wedding."
Mehdi mentioned that he was surprised that the photos continued to be circulated despite official denials from both parties, and considered that the media frenzy around them contributed to promoting the series and increased its viewership.
The series "Roses and Chocolate" is directed by Mando El Adl, written by Mohamed Ragaa, and stars Zeina and Mohamed Farag among others, including Mariam El Khosht, Morad Makram, Safaa Al Toukhy, Maha Nassar, Mohamed Suleiman, and Amr Mehdi.
The series takes place in a dramatic romantic suspense framework inspired by a true story that sparked controversy in Egyptian society, where the relationship between the lead characters "Salah" and "Marwa" oscillates between deep love and the desire for revenge, in a narrative that mixes emotion and mystery, revealing complex human conflicts.
