Khaberni - A horrifying incident occurred in the Beyoğlu district of Istanbul when a 13-year-old child stabbed his classmate in the neck while they were on their way to class, causing injuries that resulted in his being rushed to the hospital.
The incident occurred in the Hacı Ahmet neighborhood when the two students, "M. A." and "I. D.," who study at the same middle school, met while walking on the same road.
Preliminary investigations suggest that a minor dispute had arisen between them earlier, before it escalated into a fight that ended with a serious assault attempt.
The story began when the child "I. D." left his home in the morning carrying a knife, waited for his classmate behind parked cars in the street, then attacked him upon seeing him and stabbed him in the neck.
The injured student tried to run seeking help while holding his wound, and was transported by a neighbor’s car to "Ok Meydanı" Hospital where he received first aid and underwent four stitches in the neck.
Police patrols from Beyoğlu immediately began search operations after receiving the report, and successfully arrested the suspect "I. D." within a short time, who was then taken to the police station to be investigated on the charge of "deliberate assault".
Statements from several classmates revealed that the perpetrator had threatened his classmates in the class the day before, waving his intent to "get even" with one of them, which raised concerns among the students hours before the incident.
Some also reported that his behavior had been aggressive in recent weeks, prompting the school administration to receive multiple complaints from students about him.
After completing the investigation, the prosecution presented the child to the court, which decided to release him on judicial surveillance, with the continuation of monitoring by competent authorities due to his young age, while doctors confirmed that the condition of the injured student is stable, and he has left the hospital after receiving necessary treatment.
