Postponement of 5 Egyptian Movies

Khaberni - The Egyptian cinema scene has experienced a flurry of activity in recent months, with the release of several films that achieved massive popularity and unexpected revenues, among these movies are "Project X", "Ahmad and Ahmad", "The Clever One", "Darwish" and others. However, there are a number of other works that the audience was eagerly awaiting, especially since filming was completed some time ago, but they have not been released yet, and some have been shelved for many months.

The start with the movie "The Jeweler" starring Mohamed Henedy and Mona Zaki, which the public was very excited about, especially as it marks the reunion of the two big stars after more than 25 years since their collaboration in "Sa'idi in the American University".

The production company backed down
The strange thing is that “The Jeweler” was announced to be shown in cinemas last July, before the production company backed down from that decision, and quickly notified theaters to postpone the release of the film to an unspecified date without disclosing the reason behind this, returning the film back into the drawers, despite being finished filming several months ago.

Also, the movie "The Ravens" starring Amro Saad and Mai Omar was finished filming more than two years ago, and it was supposed to be shown in cinemas at the beginning of 2025, but it was postponed without clear reasons, and the production company did not disclose the reason behind retracting its release in cinemas, especially since this work is eagerly awaited by the public. It belongs to the thriller cinema that combines action and historical events and relies on global photography techniques, also marking the return of the actor Amro Saad to the cinema scene after an absence of over six years, and also marks the first collaboration between him and the actress Mai Omar.

Postponed from the summer season to Eid al-Fitr
As for the movie "Death Squad" starring Ahmed Ezz, Asser Yassin, and Menna Shalaby, it is also one of the films anticipated in cinemas, despite finishing filming over 6 months ago, the production company has not allowed its release in cinemas yet without disclosing any reasons, especially when it had a significant chance to be shown in the past summer season, which saw the release of several important movies, and it is supposed to be delayed another 4 months, and to be released in cinemas for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr season.

Sensitive religious issue
As for the movie "The Atheist" starring Ahmed Hatem, Mahmoud Hemida, and Sherine Reda, its release was postponed due to artistic and technical reasons, where the producer Ahmed El Sobky confirmed that there are some modifications supposed to be made to the movie before its release in cinemas, and the movie's stars implemented the new modifications and filmed additional scenes within the movie, but its release has not been announced yet, especially after the controversy it stirred upon the release of its teaser, where some demanded its banning, considering that it discusses a sensitive religious issue that should not be approached.

Also, the movie "Pill" starring Hesham Maged and Taha El Desouqi, despite being finished filming 4 months ago and was supposed to be shown last September, the production company decided to postpone its release without specifying an exact date for that.
