Khaberni - The Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Yarub Al-Qudah, revealed that the government incentives provided to investors in Al-Karak Industrial City attracted 16 industrial projects with investments totaling 10 million dinars, most of which are in the final stages of commencement.

Al-Qudah added to "Al-Mamlaka" after His Majesty the King's visit to the Karak governorate on Sunday, that the government, under His Majesty's directives, has proposed a set of projects over the past months aimed at attracting investments to the industrial city in Al-Karak and the development city in Ghor Al-Mazra'a.

Al-Qudah considered the attraction of 16 new projects as a "qualitative leap".

Among the government incentives were support for electricity prices and including the industrial city in Al-Karak in productive branch programs through the government covering 50% of the wages of employees for 5 years.

He added that the government targeted attracting investment in the industrial city by reducing land prices from 25 dinars per meter to 10 dinars, and offering a 50% discount on handling fees at the Aqaba port for 5 years to encourage export industries.

Al-Qudah said that this was based on the directives of His Majesty the King regarding the need to work on establishing sustainable development in the provinces.

The minister mentioned that the government set up a development area for agricultural industries in Ghor Al-Mazra'a equipped with incentive packages aimed at boosting sustainable agricultural industry projects.
