Khaberni - A woman in her thirties died in Zarqa Governorate, suffering from severe injuries resulting from being beaten and tortured by her husband, according to her family.
The victim's brother said her husband severely beat her, burned her body with cigarettes and coal, and confined her in the bathroom for two days, before she was transferred to her family's home in a critical health condition due to the severe torture.
He added that the perpetrator often threatened to harm her four children if she complained or sought help, which forced her to remain silent out of fear for them.
He mentioned that she was rushed to Zarqa Government Hospital, where it was revealed that she had severe burns and beatings on various parts of her body, before she lost consciousness for hours.
Her brother explained that after she briefly regained consciousness, she gave her testimony to the Family Protection Department, then fell into a coma again, before her death was announced last Friday.
The victim's family demanded the judicial authorities to impose the severest penalties on the perpetrator, affirming their trust in the security forces and judiciary in achieving justice.
