Khaberni - Official Statement Issued by the General Secretariat of the Jordanian National Union Party
A very good greeting and thereafter,
Starting from the national constants on which the Jordanian National Union Party is based, and built on principles of social justice, protecting the dignity of citizens and workers, and following up on developments related to the file of day laborers in municipalities and those compulsorily referred to early retirement from the employees of Greater Amman Municipality, the General Secretariat affirms the following:
Firstly: The issue of day laborers in the municipalities has become an urgent issue that requires immediate and comprehensive treatment, after the wait of workers has prolonged over the years without equitable administrative resolution.
The party affirms the necessity to permanently employ all day laborers who meet the legal and administrative conditions, to ensure their living and job stability, and to enhance the principle of fairness in opportunities and labor rights.
Secondly: Regarding the employees of the Greater Amman Municipality who were sent to early retirement against their wishes, the General Secretariat believes that these actions require meticulous and comprehensive review by the government, and verification of the legal bases that supported those decisions, to ensure the restoration of rights to their owners and fair and equitable compensation for the affected.
Thirdly: The General Secretariat confirms that the party's deputies adopt a unified stance within the House of Representatives on these issues, through coordination with the relevant committees, and exercising the regulatory and legislative role in alignment with the party’s principles and social approach.
Fourthly: The General Secretariat has recommended that the honorable deputies submit an official joint parliamentary memorandum in the name of the party’s bloc to the Prime Minister, explicitly demanding the permanent employment of day laborers in municipalities, reviewing the decisions of compulsory referral to early retirement, and making decisive government decisions within a specified time frame.
Fifthly: The Jordanian National Union Party renews its complete commitment to stand by the working class in the Kingdom, and to defend their rights and gains within the constitutional and legal frameworks, believing that the dignity of the worker is an integral part of the dignity of the country.
Accordingly, the respected deputies of the party will deal with this file with the utmost priority, and with a responsible spirit that reflects the constant position of the party and its bias towards social justice and the supreme national interest.
