Khaberni - The public security directorate spokesman stated that the staff in the Anti-Narcotics Department, through their daily efforts to pursue all drug trafficking and promotion cases, dealt with seven quality cases in recent days, during which they arrested 13 dealers, promoters, and smugglers of drugs in various provinces of the kingdom and seized the narcotics in their possession.
In one of the most prominent cases, the department’s personnel thwarted three attempts to smuggle narcotics. In the first case, at the Jaber border crossing, in coordination with the Jordanian customs and security agencies, they followed up on information about an individual preparing and storing quantities of narcotics inside a vehicle ahead of smuggling them into the kingdom. The vehicle and the involved person were identified, and he was arrested immediately upon attempting to enter the border. Upon searching the vehicle, 80,000 narcotic pills hidden in a secret compartment within the vehicle’s body were found. The investigation continued, identifying the recipient of the narcotics within the kingdom, whose location was raided, and he was arrested.
In the second case, a person was arrested for attempting to smuggle 44,000 narcotic pills, in collaboration with individuals outside the kingdom. After the narcotics were seized at one of Jaber border yards, in cooperation with Jordanian customs and security agencies, the involved person was raided and captured.
In the last smuggling case, an investigative team from the department pursued information about three individuals importing white papers saturated with synthetic cannabis substance through postal parcels. One of these parcels was seized in cooperation with the customs and security agencies, and all involved were arrested.
In the central Badia, two drug trafficking cases were handled. In the first case, a special team from the department monitored and followed several dangerous and armed individuals with priors in drug cases, confirming their involvement in growing and selling narcotics. Their criminal activity location was identified, and they were raided, where four individuals were arrested with possession of a large quantity of marijuana plants and another quantity of ready-to-sell marijuana, along with an automatic firearm. In the second case, a promoter of cocaine was arrested after his location was identified, and a quantity of that drug was found in his possession.
In Al-Mafraq governorate, the house of a drug dealer was raided, he was arrested, and upon searching the house, 20,000 narcotic pills hidden atop a tree were discovered. In the latest case in Irbid governorate, a drug promoter was arrested with possession of ten packs of hashish narcotics.
