Return of Syrian Child to His Family After a Month of Abduction

Khaberni - The city of Latakia, northwest Syria, today, Saturday, experienced great joy with the return of the child Mohammad Qais Haider, aged 13, to his family's arms after approximately a month following his abduction from in front of his school, an incident that occupied public opinion and elicited widespread sympathy inside and outside Syria.

A widely circulated video showed the moment the child arrived at his home in the Agriculture district in the city of Latakia amid a massive popular reception, where locals and neighbors gathered, waving flags and chanting his name, while Mohammad appeared smiling, waving his hand from atop the shoulders of a relative.

"Syrian News Channel" reported that the child returned to his family safely, while lawyer Orwa Soussi, a resident of Jableh city, confirmed in a Facebook post that the liberation operation was successfully conducted thanks to the round-the-clock efforts of the security agencies that pursued the case until the child's return to his family.

Additionally, engineer Orwa Haider, the child's uncle, posted expressing his immense gratitude to everyone who contributed to the return of the family's son, noting that "Latakia's joy today is indescribable, as Mohammad has returned to his parents' arms after long days of anxiety".
