Ministry of Social Development 116000 families benefited from assistance during the year

Khaberni - Government data showed that the Ministry of Social Development provided in-kind and cash assistance to 116,000 families from September 2024 to September 2025, as part of its efforts to enhance social protection and expand national aid programs.

According to the data, 105,366 families benefited from social studies conducted by the ministry for health insurance, while the ministry launched the national strategy for social protection for the period 2025-2033.

The ministry conducted 5,832 field campaigns to combat begging, followed 69 shelters and made follow-up visits to 124 foreign associations. It also launched awareness campaigns against begging and for protection from domestic violence, earning the Seal of Excellence from the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence and Leadership.

In the field of alternative care for children, the ministry handed over 89 children to alternative foster families, bringing the cumulative number of children who benefited to 1,968.

The ministry opened the National Autism Center in Zarqa Governorate to accommodate 80 cases of autistic children, in addition to launching 12 early intervention units including 3 mobile units. The ministry also worked on creating and purchasing and maintaining 137 housing units for poor families based on approved standards.

The ministry worked on supporting local development by providing support to 560 associations worth 1.25 million dinars, in addition to providing direct support to 325 associations worth 431 thousand dinars.

In the field of women's empowerment, 5,500 women benefited from the ministry's programs. Also, 71 families benefited from productive projects that provided 71 new job opportunities.

According to the data, the number of beneficiaries from training programs reached 47,146 people, while the ministry established 12 new centers/units to serve people with disabilities. It followed up on 315 administrative units in the field, 885 associations received support, and 355 people with disabilities benefited from the family support program.
