Broadcasting Authority Tel Aviv Reserves on Forming an International Force Through the Security Council

Khaberni - The Israeli Broadcasting Authority stated that Tel Aviv has reservations about the establishment of international forces in the Gaza Strip through the Security Council, as it opposes the participation of Turkish forces therein, while President Donald Trump insists on a Turkish role in the sector.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported from the Israeli Channel Two that the United States is seeking to expedite the formation of the multinational force in Gaza, which is causing a dispute between Washington and Tel Aviv.

The channel stated that Israel not only opposes the presence of armed Turkish forces in Gaza but also has reservations about the establishment of this force through the United Nations Security Council, similar to UNIFIL and the United Nations forces monitoring the disengagement operating in Lebanon and Syria.

Israeli officials also reported that Trump still insists on giving the Turks a role in the Gaza Strip. In light of this, two options are being considered: either deploying unarmed forces or involving the Turks in the reconstruction of the sector.

The news site Axios, last Thursday, reported that officials in the Trump administration are holding talks with several countries regarding the establishment of an international force to be deployed in the Gaza Strip.

According to Axios, it is expected that the American administration will present a plan in the coming weeks, which the U.S. Central Command is drafting, and it will also include units from the Palestinian police.
