Khaberni - US Secretary of War Pete Higsith said after his meeting with his Chinese counterpart Dong Jun in Malaysia that the United States and China agreed on the need to establish military communication channels between the two countries to reduce conflicts and prevent any escalation of future problems.
Following a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea, Higsith said in a post on X on Saturday, "I had an equally positive meeting with my counterpart, Chinese National Defense Minister Admiral Dong Jun in Malaysia."
Higsith added that American and Chinese officials will hold more meetings on establishing these channels.
