Khaberni - Media reports indicate that FC Barcelona is embarking on building the world's largest "sports monument" within Camp Nou, in an unprecedented symbolic step in the world of football.
The club announced the start of the construction of the "El Memorial" monument for its fans inside the new stadium during November 2025.
ARA newspaper said that the project aims to perpetuate the memory of thousands of fans who wish to have their ashes or memorial symbols stay beside the stadium they loved throughout their lives".
It continued: "The monument is located in the basement of Camp Nou, between the north and side stands, covering an area of 1,280 square meters, to become the largest sports-related memorial site in the world".
It revealed that it will include: 26,600 places for storing ashes, 9,000 memorial plaques with names and information of the fans, symbolic elements and modern artistic designs, interactive display screens and visual clips to honor the fans and their loved ones, allowing visitors access to this space during business hours to reflect and bid farewell to their loved ones in a quiet and solemn atmosphere".
It pointed out that the costs and prices for the memorial plaque (which includes the name, surname, and a short message): starting from 605 euros, and symbolic gifts such as an official FC Barcelona shirt or a gold bracelet with the stadium engraving can be added, bringing the price up to 1,220 euros.
While the cost for ash storage rooms is 3000 euros for a 25-year lease, and 6000 euros for a 50-year lease.
