Khaberni - "Geek Window Cleaning" transformed from a small side project to a thriving business thanks to the shift from search engine optimization to the use of artificial intelligence.
According to a report by Business Insider, entrepreneur Kyle Ray said that his company, which achieved six-figure revenues in 2024, is "on the path to exceeding the million-dollar mark" in 2025.
From Leading on Google to Excelling Through Algorithms
Since founding his company in 2013, Ray relied on appearing at the forefront of search results when searching for "Houston window cleaning," stating, "When you searched for Houston window cleaning, we appeared first."
But in an interview with "Business Insider," Ray explained that this stage ended, saying, "We ended our contract with the SEO company, I no longer care about ranking on Google, as search operations are quickly heading towards zero."
Instead of relying on traditional marketing, he invested in an integrated technology ecosystem relying on tools like "Chat GPT," "Price Guide AI," and "Zira Talk" to automate customer management, scheduling, and pricing.
Smart Automation Eliminates the Need for a Large Team
Ray says he uses artificial intelligence not because he is obsessed with technology, but because he wants to "provide personalized service that maintains efficiency without needing a huge workforce."
He added, "No matter what type of business you have, if you are not playing the artificial intelligence game, you will find yourself falling behind within a few years."
By relying on the Service Monster platform, he can now obtain precise details about customers, such as the names of pets in their homes, to provide what he calls "unprecedented and highly personalized hospitality."
Practical Applications of Smart Tools
Ray uses "Chat GPT" daily to analyze profits and make financial decisions, explaining, "I am the only one running the company, but I can create a virtual CFO or executive inside Chat GPT."
He employs tools like Zira Talk and Sherp for managing calls and text messages, saying, "I want all our calls to be answered immediately, and I don't want any call to be diverted to voicemail."
He made the customer experience completely automated, as now customers can obtain a quote and book a service "from start to finish without speaking to anyone."
A Lesson for Small Enterprises
According to a report by "Business Insider," Ray draws a fundamental message for entrepreneurs from his experience, "Artificial intelligence may seem complex at first, but once you get used to it and learn how to use it, you can accomplish things at an amazing speed, and money loves speed."
He confirms that the future of small businesses will not be determined by the number of employees, but by the entrepreneur's ability to harness artificial intelligence to increase productivity and improve customer experience.
