Khaberni - The Director of Customs for the Free Zone in Zarqa, Rakad Al-Issa, said that the customs center continues to receive customs data transactions until 12 midnight today, aiming to complete as many customs declarations as possible before the recent government decisions become effective at dawn on Sunday.
On Saturday evening, Al-Issa indicated that the number of vehicles remaining in the free zone's inventory is now around 2000 vehicles, while the number of registrations recorded for today is 1803, expecting to complete all transactions by the end of the day’s work.
He added that deposit and withdrawal operations are still ongoing by traders.
Al-Issa confirmed that the center's staff is working at full capacity in coordination with the relevant authorities.
The Jordanian Customs had confirmed that there will be no extension to the decision to stop the clearance of non-compliant vehicles.
After October 1, there will be 3 restrictions: "Clearance will not be granted for salvage vehicles", there will be no clearance allowed for electric cars over 3 years old including the year of clearance, "Specifications and standards requirements related to European, American and Saudi specifications will be applied to all types of vehicles (hybrid – gasoline – electric).
