Khaberni - A new statistic reveals that French players are the highest earners from transfer deals in the last ten years according to the International Observatory for Sports Studies (CIES).
The statistic also shows that French players significantly outperform their Brazilian, Spanish, and Portuguese counterparts over the mentioned period.
Stunning Figures for the Value of French Players' Transfers in the Last Decade
Since 2016, the revenue from transfers of players trained in France amounted to about 4 billion euros, with an average of 400 million euros annually, a record amount according to the French newspaper "Le Parisien."
The financial gap in revenues of French players' deals over their Brazilian counterparts is a large 1.4.
Revenues exceeded one billion euros in 7 other countries, six of them European: Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, England, Germany, and Italy, plus Argentina.

1. France: 3.98 billion euros.
2. Brazil: 2.6 billion euros.
3. Spain: 2.24 billion euros.
4. Portugal: 1.99 billion euros.
5. Netherlands: 1.63 billion euros.
6. England: 1.60 billion euros.
7. Argentina: 1.56 billion euros.
8. Germany: 1.48 billion euros.
9. Italy: 1.04 billion euros.
10. Belgium: 847 million euros.
Third of Revenues from Players Under 20 Years Old
At the same time, the statistic confirms that about a third of the revenues came from transfers of players not exceeding the age of 20.
It also clarified that some countries like Serbia, Brazil, Denmark, Sweden, and Belgium benefit significantly from selling young players, considering that they move to major clubs at an early age.
Recent summer transfer period has demonstrated the continued trend of high-value transfers of French players, where Hugo Ekitike (23 years old) moved from Eintracht Frankfurt to Liverpool for 95 million euros, and Rayan Cherki (23 years old) from Olympique Lyon to Manchester City for 45 million euros.
Also, Matisse Thill, Mamadou Sar, and Nathan Zizeze left for no less than 15 million euros each, despite their ages not exceeding 20 years.
French players enjoy great popularity outside their country, with 40 French players in the English Premier League alone, making them the largest foreign group in the championship.
