Khaberni - The United Arab Emirates emphasized, in the meeting of the First Committee of the United Nations General Assembly on "Regional Disarmament", the necessity of intensifying international efforts for disarmament and the elimination of nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction.
The UAE renewed its steadfast support for the establishment of a region free from nuclear weapons, and weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East. It urged all parties involved in the upcoming conference on "Establishing a Zone Free of Nuclear Weapons and Other Weapons of Mass Destruction in the Middle East", to engage constructively to achieve a legally binding treaty that contributes to further progress in this field.
