Khaberni - The Saudi Customs thwarted an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of amphetamine pills known as "Captagon," with about 5,388,998 pills discovered hidden in a shipment incoming to the kingdom via King Abdulaziz Port in Jeddah.
Saudi Customs spokesperson, Hamoud Al-Harbi, explained that the large quantity arrived at the port in a shipment described as "charcoal," and upon undergoing customs procedures and being examined through security technologies and live means, this quantity of pills was found hidden inside the charcoal bags.

He added that after completing the seizure operation, coordination was made with the General Directorate for Narcotics Control to ensure the arrest of the recipients of the seized items inside the kingdom, totaling 3 persons.

The official spokesperson confirmed that the authority through its customs outlets is continuing to tighten customs control over the imports and exports of the kingdom, and stands vigilant against smuggling attempts, thereby fulfilling one of its key strategic pillars aimed at enhancing the security and protection of the community by curbing attempts to smuggle such calamities and other prohibited items.
