Khaberni - Billie Eilish directed criticism at billionaires and called on them to donate, announcing her donation of $11.5 million to support the environment and food justice.

In a widely interactive step, global star Billie Eilish delivered a strong message during her attendance at the Wall Street Journal Innovator Awards 2025 held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, where she criticized the attending billionaires and urged them to use their wealth to serve humanitarian causes.

While accepting the "Music Innovator of the Year" award, Eilish said in front of the audience, including Mark Zuckerberg: “We live in a world going through a difficult phase, and people need help more than ever. If you have money, use it for something good. Donate your money, millionaires!”

Her bold statements received widespread reactions, with some seeing them as a humanitarian outcry against financial greed, and others believing that they place art stars in an ethical leadership position befitting their global influence.

In a humane gesture that was highly praised, host Stephen Colbert announced during the event that Billie Eilish will donate $11.5 million from the proceeds of her latest music tour "Hit Me Hard And Soft Tour" to charity organizations focused on combating the climate crisis and supporting food justice around the world.

The tour that accompanied the release of her third album achieved record-breaking successes, with Eilish smashing records held by major artists like Justin Timberlake and the band Metallica in world arenas, including Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney and O2 Arena in Prague.

Eilish also continued her environmental commitment through innovative initiatives such as setting up “Eco Villages” at her concerts to educate her audience about sustainability and reducing carbon emissions, alongside enforcing vegetarian options at food outlets during her tour, expressing her support for animal rights and planetary protection.

It is scheduled that her tour will resume inside the United States next November, where Eilish confirmed that her artistic message will not be limited to music, but will extend to include defending the earth and humanity in a time when the gap between wealth and responsibility is widening.
