Khaberni - Ziad Al-Saayida, the President of the Board of Commissioners of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission, stated that the electricity network in Jordan operates with high efficiency, which enhances the services provided and performance efficiency.
Al-Saayida added during his appearance on Jordanian TV in the "Sixty Minutes" program hosted by his colleague Anas Al-Majali, that smart meter installation has reached 93%, and by the end of the year, the work on the old meters will be completed, and the invoice is the determinant between the resident and the electricity company.
Al-Saayida confirmed that the fee for restoring electricity is three dinars, and if the electricity outage recurs, an additional dinar will be charged and that the electrical loss is not distributed among the subscriber’s bills.
Al-Saayida added that Jordan is one of the advanced countries in renewable energy and we are working to make Jordan a regional center for renewable energy.
Al-Saayida said that the commission works in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Economy to launch an application for the transport and distribution of gas cylinders.
Regarding electric charging stations, Al-Saayida revealed that 200 electric charging stations are currently operating in the kingdom, and there are a thousand requests to establish more stations.
