Khaberni - The United Arab Emirates, in a UN Security Council meeting today, Friday, condemned the horrific attacks targeting civilians in the city of Al-Fashir, and called upon the Rapid Support Forces to ensure the protection of civilians and humanitarian workers.
The UAE urged both parties involved in the ongoing civil war in Sudan to exercise restraint and fully comply with their obligations under international humanitarian law.
It reaffirmed its steadfast support for the brotherly people of Sudan, announcing an additional contribution of $100 million US dollars to support life-saving humanitarian efforts in the city of Al-Fashir.
The UAE renewed its call for an immediate humanitarian truce that would lead to a permanent ceasefire and the launch of a transitional process towards an independent government led by civilians.
