Khaberni - Jerusalem saw its largest religious demonstration in Israeli history on Thursday, as Haredi parties and groups united to protest near the String Bridge due to the government's failure to enact the new conscription law.

Tens of thousands of followers of the religious stream participated in the "Million Man March", amid threats from the rabbis to withdraw their support for Benjamin Netanyahu's government, which could lead to the collapse of the ruling coalition and a move towards new elections.

The crisis reflects the final decision moving to the highest religious councils such as the "Council of Torah Sages" associated with the Shas party and "United Torah Judaism", which have become the main reference in determining the fate of the coalition with Likud. The rabbis believe that a government that does not guarantee the protection of Torah study is no longer worthy of survival.

This movement is part of an escalating crisis between the religious parties and the Israeli government over the exemption of religious school students from military service, which heralds political repercussions that could shake the future of the ruling coalition.
