Khaberni - The amended system for the road traffic services fee was issued in today's issue of the Official Gazette.
The published system includes a special annex for the Haranah - Al-Umari road, where the government has set the toll rates for the first toll road in Jordan, which will start operation next month.
The annex specifies the toll gate for the Haranah Al-Umari road located between Qasr Amra and Haranah towards the Saudi border.
According to the annex, a toll fee of 850 fils will be collected for each small vehicle that passes through the toll gate in any direction, and a toll fee of 2 dinars and 500 fils for freight vehicles and foreign freight vehicles.
The following categories are exempt from paying the road traffic services fee in any direction:
- Government vehicles and freight vehicles of all types.
- Vehicles and freight vehicles of the Jordan Armed Forces - the Arab Army of all types and formations.
- Vehicles and freight vehicles of the Public Security Directorate of all types and formations.
- Ambulance vehicles.
- Vehicles and freight vehicles for official delegations of all authorized types.
- Any other vehicles or freight vehicles specified by the Minister.
According to the annex, the government collects the road traffic service fee through payment methods it specifies, whether cash, electronic payment methods, or other available collection methods.
