Amended System for Driver Licensing in Jordan  Details

Khaberni - Issued in the Official Gazette, today, Thursday, an amended regulation for the driver licensing system.

The system stipulates the following:

Article 1- This system shall be called (Amended Regulation for Driver Licensing System for the year 2025)
It shall be read in conjunction with Regulation No. (101) of the year 2008, referred to hereinafter as the original regulation, and any amendments thereto shall be treated as a single regulation and shall come into effect on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
Article 2- Article (7) of the original system is amended as follows:- First: By cancelling the phrase (the first, second, and third categories) mentioned in paragraph (a)
and replacing it with the phrase (from the first to the sixth category).
Second: By cancelling the text of paragraph (b) therein and substituting it with the following text:- b- Notwithstanding what is stated in paragraph (1) of this article, the renewal of driving licenses from the fourth category to the sixth category shall be for two years upon the license holder reaching the age of sixty-five
Article 3- Article (9) of the original regulation is amended as follows:-First: By cancelling the text of paragraph (a) thereof and substituting it with the following text:-
a- It is not permissible to drive public transport vehicles, freight vehicles, vehicles transporting hazardous or explosive materials, buses, special medium buses, and student transport vehicles unless an annual driving permit is obtained from the Licensing Administration.
Second: By cancelling the text of clause (6) from paragraph Khaberni (b) and substituting it
with the following text :-

6- If the applicant has not been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor that breaches honor, morals, and public decency or has been convicted of causing a traffic accident resulting in disability, injury to a person for a period not less than a month, or death within the two years preceding the application date.
Third: By adding the phrase (from the Jordan Traffic Institute or accredited centers)
to the end of clause (8) from paragraph (b) therein.
