Khaberni - American President Donald Trump stated on social media that he granted South Korea approval to build a nuclear-powered submarine, in comments he made during his Asian tour.

Trump also stated, during his meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung and other regional leaders, that Seoul agreed to purchase large quantities of American oil and gas.

Trump and Lee put the final touches on a trade agreement at a summit in South Korea on Wednesday.

Lee sought U.S. approval to reprocess nuclear fuel for submarines that can longer track North Korean and Chinese ships.

Seoul is prohibited from reprocessing nuclear fuel without U.S. approval, under an agreement between the two countries.

Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform, "I gave them approval to build a nuclear-powered submarine, instead of the old diesel-powered submarines they currently have, which are much less advanced."
