Netanyahus trial will be held 4 times a week

Khaberni - The court panel responsible for the trial of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu once again, on Wednesday evening, rejected the defense team's request to cancel the decision to hold the sessions four times a week, confirming the continuation of the intensive session schedule.

According to the court's decision, this obligation is due to a specific term period for one of the judges, referring to the head of the panel, Judge Rebecca Friedman Feldman, who fears retiring before issuing a final verdict in the “thousands files” case.

The lawyer Amit Hadad, and the rest of Netanyahu's lawyers, had recently informed the court that they met with the prime minister and assured him of their inability to continue legally representing him if the sessions were to occur four times a week.

However, the judges decided this evening not to allow the lawyers to stop representing Netanyahu, justifying this by the “magnitude and complexity of the file,” and added, “Responding to this request may harm the ability to continue managing the proceedings properly.”

Lawyer Hadad had confirmed this morning that even if the court orders the defense team to continue representing, they would refuse, saying, “We will not be here.”

For his part, Netanyahu claimed at the beginning of today's session that he “makes extraordinary efforts to attend,” describing his busy day, claiming that he sleeps “two and a half hours” when there is a court session.

He pointed out that the burden of his political, security, and economic duties is enormous, claiming that he is compelled to perform his duties “for the state, in one of the most challenging times.”
