Khaberni - On Wednesday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Al-Safadi, welcomed the German Foreign Minister Johann David Fahdiful, and conducted extensive discussions with him about ways of enhancing the solid friendship relations between the two countries and developments in the region.
Al-Safadi and Fadiful reaffirmed their commitment to continue expanding cooperation programs between the Kingdom and Germany in vital sectors including water, investment, education, vocational training, tourism, and defense.
Al-Safadi valued the ongoing support provided by Germany for development projects in Jordan and for the assistance in dealing with the repercussions of regional crises.
Al-Safadi and his German counterpart discussed the efforts made to maintain the ceasefire in Gaza, and stressed the necessity of its continuation and progress within a comprehensive vision that ensures security, stability, and reconstruction in Gaza, and the creation of a genuine political horizon to achieve fair and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.
The ministers also affirmed the necessity of immediately and sufficiently delivering humanitarian aid to all parts of the sector and continuing the cooperation between the two countries in these efforts.
Al-Safadi and Fadiful examined the situation in the West Bank where Al-Safadi stressed the necessity to stop all illegal Israeli actions that undermine the two-state solution and lead to escalation, especially the building and expansion of settlements, land confiscation, besieging the Palestinian economy, and attempts to alter the historic and legal status of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
The ministers also discussed the latest developments in Syria and the efforts of the Syrian government in reconstruction.
Al-Safadi renewed his emphasis on the Kingdom's support for the Syrian government in its reconstruction efforts on bases that ensure Syria's unity, security, sovereignty, stability, territorial integrity, and the well-being of its citizens.
Al-Safadi also condemned the Israeli interventions aimed at sowing discord and chaos in Syria, and the Israeli attacks on Syria.
Al-Safadi emphasized that the stability and security of Syria are pivotal for regional security and that Syria's success in reconstruction is a success for the region and necessary for stability and security in the region and Europe.
Al-Safadi and Fadiful agreed to maintain consultation and coordination regarding ways to develop relations and issues of mutual interest, in a manner that serves the interests of both countries and peoples.
