Khaberni - The Public Prosecution in Paris said that the two detainees in the Louvre Museum theft case partially confessed to their participation in the operation, indicating that French security has not yet succeeded in finding the stolen jewels.

The prosecution added that investigations revealed significant damage to Queen Eugenie's crown, which was found in the vicinity of the museum, while confirming at the same time that there is no evidence of the detainees benefiting from accomplices inside the Louvre.

For the first time, the Paris public prosecution confirmed that one of the suspects detained in the theft at the Louvre holds Algerian nationality, according to what was reported by an Al Arabiya/Al Hadath correspondent.

Previously, local media had reported that he was preparing to leave for Algeria without confirming his nationality. The Algerian detainee has been living in France since 2010.

It is noted that on October 19, thieves stole 8 precious pieces, valued at approximately 102 million dollars from the Louvre collection.

The theft revealed security gaps during the thieves' break-in at the most visited museum in the world using a crane and breaking a window on the upper floor during business hours, then fled on motorcycles.

Meanwhile, the theft echoed around the world, causing deep reflection on the situation in France due to what some considered an "insult" to the country.
