Barcelona Announces Pedris Injury

Khaberni - Today, Wednesday, the Spanish club Barcelona officially announced the injury of their star Pedri Gonzalez, without specifying the duration of his absence from the fields, in a news that shocked the Catalan team's fans, who have not yet recovered from the loss in El Clasico against Real Madrid.

The club said in an official statement published on its website: "First team player Pedri Gonzalez has suffered a tear in the biceps femoris of the left thigh, and his return date will be determined based on his health condition progress in the coming days."

This injury comes at a critical time for German coach Hansi Flick, who continues to search for balance in the midfield after a series of injuries that have plagued the team's lineup since the start of the season.

Confirmed absence against Elche

Pedri was due to miss Barcelona's next match against Elche in the eleventh round of the Spanish League, due to the red card he received in the last El Clasico against Real Madrid. However, the new injury adds more uncertainty regarding his return date, doubling Barcelona's woes as they undergo a sensitive phase of the season both domestically and in Europe.

Flick will need to find alternative solutions to compensate for the absence of the player, who is one of the key elements in the team's system of play, especially given the decline in the performance of other midfield elements recently.

Barcelona will host Elche next Saturday at the "Luis Companys Olympic" Stadium in Montjuic, in a match where the Catalan team hopes to return to winning ways after their defeat at the Bernabeu.

Behind the scenes of the dismissal in the Clasico

The last minutes of last Sunday’s Clasico, which ended with a 2-1 victory for Real Madrid, witnessed tense scenes inside the pitch and on the benches.

The game ignited in injury time, after a strong challenge from Pedri led to his receiving a second yellow card, resulting in his dismissal in the tenth minute of injury time in the second half.

The events did not stop there, as scuffles broke out between players and technical staff members near the technical area, causing chaos on the sidelines before the referee and assistant staff intervened to manage the situation.

After the final whistle, the tension flared up again following a verbal altercation between Thibaut Courtois and Lamine Yamal, which prompted intervention from players of both teams to break up the clash, before escalating into minor physical altercations involving several players, notably Antonio Rudiger and Raphinha, who were not included in the list originally.

These violent scenes reflected the psychological pressure and tension that dominated the atmosphere until the final moments, in one of the most tense Clasico matches in recent years.
