Khaberni - Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan said the government will present a draft law on social security to parliament, indicating efforts to achieve independence for the institution in a manner similar to the central bank model.
Hassan explained that the government would introduce amendments to the Property and Land Tax Law that include clear and transparent provisions that allow an increase in the deduction on vacant buildings from 50% to 75%, adding during a cabinet session today Wednesday in the capital, Amman, that the proposed discount for vacant buildings would cover all taxes and fees instead of just the property tax.
As part of the political reform process, he stated that the government is pushing for organizing a dialogue on the local administration law project with various related parties, following the recommendations of the Royal Committee for the Modernization of the Political System.
