Khaberni - تجّار الزيوت said that olive oil from last year's production is no longer available in the Jordanian market.
Traders explained in discussions for the Khaberni website that with the spread of news in the recent period about the scarcity of the olive crop and the rising prices of olive oil, citizens noticeably rushed to purchase what remained of last year's production.
They added that last year's production ran out about three weeks ago
They indicated that the price of this year's olive oil ranges between 140 and 150 Jordanian dinars per tin at most traders despite Khaberni and promises by the Ministry of Agriculture to intervene to prevent price rises, which remained empty talk through opening the door for imports.
