Khaberni - Jordanian-Pakistani relations are a distinctive model of deep brotherly cooperation that binds two brotherly countries linked by a long history of mutual respect and ongoing coordination in various fields. These relations have seen accelerated development since their establishment, reflected in political, military, cultural, and educational cooperation, affirming their strength and ongoing sustainability on solid foundations of trust and respect.
In this context, the official visit by General Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, embodied the depth of these relationships and renewed the mutual commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation. General Munir met His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein and Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, where they discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of defense and security, and exchanged views on regional and international developments.
General Munir conveyed the greetings of the people, government, and armed forces of Pakistan to His Majesty the King, affirming Pakistan's keenness to strengthen brotherly relations with Jordan. In return, His Majesty King Abdullah II praised the high professionalism of the Pakistani armed forces and their active contributions to supporting regional security and peace, expressing his desire to expand the prospects of defense cooperation between the two countries.
The visit also included a meeting with Major General Yousef Ahmad Al Hunaiti, Chief of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff, where both sides affirmed the depth of the historical relations between the Jordanian and Pakistani armies, and their eagerness to continue joint efforts to enhance regional security and stability.
Jordanian-Pakistani cooperation is not limited to the military aspect but extends to cultural and educational fields. Over nine thousand Jordanian students have graduated from Pakistani universities in various specialties, while about two hundred Jordanian students are currently continuing their studies in Pakistani universities and institutes, reflecting the strength of the educational and cultural bonds between the two brotherly peoples.
Jordanian-Pakistani relations are not recent but are historically rooted, established on a foundation of mutual respect and constructive cooperation in serving the issues of the nation and enhancing regional and international security and stability. With the continuation of meetings and cooperation in various areas, these relations are moving confidently towards a brighter, more integrated future between Amman and Islamabad.
