Khaberni - The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, reported on Tuesday that the agency offers online lessons aimed at reaching about 300,000 children in the Gaza Strip.
Lazzarini said that UNRWA is trying to expand the "Back to Learning" program in Gaza, either in person or online, noting that more than 25,000 children have so far joined the "temporary learning spaces" created by UNRWA, and that the agency will continue to increase the number of these sites.
He emphasized that literacy and education act as remedies for despair and psychological trauma, adding "none of that would have been possible without the thousands of UNRWA teachers," whom he said prove every day that UNRWA is successful in its work.
