Khaberni - Mazen Hamarneh, the president of the Jordanian Association of Vegetable and Fruit Exporters and Producers, appreciated the Jordanian government's efforts and ongoing support, and its work on opening new freight lines through this support, confirming that these efforts have had a clear impact on the ongoing growth of Jordanian agricultural exports and enhancing their competitiveness in foreign markets for the current and upcoming season.
Hamarneh confirmed that Royal Jordanian, as the national carrier, plays a key role in supporting agricultural exports, and has played an active role during critical periods, emphasizing the importance of its new strategy to establish Jordan as a regional logistical center by introducing large cargo planes and doubling the number of passenger planes, which will increase the number of access points and target markets in parallel with the construction of a new air cargo terminal serving all kinds of goods, stressing the importance of enhancing this role and expanding direct and regular flights to meet the needs of targeted markets.
Hamarneh pointed out that the government support specifically for agricultural air freight has clearly contributed to enhancing the presence of Jordanian products in the European markets, stimulating the expansion of contract farming, and encouraging the cultivation of new varieties required in those markets, confirming that without this support, this success would not have been achieved, whether in terms of continuity of export or competition in foreign markets.
Hamarneh revealed that this support enabled exporters to sign export contracts for large quantities for the upcoming season, which enhances the global markets' confidence in the Jordanian product, and as a result of the decision to support shipping, many export workshops were opened and rehabilitated after being closed for years, creating about 3000 job opportunities for Jordanians.
Hamarneh stated, "We emphasize the necessity to increase shipping quantities and to find new destinations in coordination with Royal Jordanian, and to establish a regular and integrated shipping flight program that clearly defines the quantities and seasons, allowing exporters to plan their operations early and realistically."
