Khaberni - The Ministry of Local Administration announced the restructuring and rescheduling of debts and overdrafts incurred by municipalities, aimed at relieving their financial burdens and enabling them to continue providing services to citizens, based on recommendations from the Cities and Villages Development Bank’s board of directors.
The ministry explained in a press release today that the municipalities have been exempted from the accrued interests until the year 2025, which amount to about 66 million dinars, in addition to being exempted from the interests on loans estimated at about 150 million dinars until the end of the repayment period.
The ministry confirmed that this action is part of a governmental plan to reorganize the financial commitments of municipalities and enhance their administrative and financial efficiency, contributing to the improvement of their sustainability and supporting their ability to implement developmental projects, in addition to enhancing the financial position of the Cities and Villages Development Bank and ensuring its cash flows.
