Mohamed Ramadan sets a condition to return to cinema

Khaberni - Artist Mohamed Ramadan reveals new details about his latest cinematic work, his anticipated film "Lion", which had its promotional trailer released a few days ago, confirming that it represents a pivotal milestone in his artistic career, and that he dedicated three years of complete dedication away from drama and previous cinematic collaborations, desiring to present a different experience that will be a model for his future films.

Ramadan said in an interview with "ET Arabic", that he stopped any other work during that period to make a film that expresses his artistic maturity, adding: "I was completely dedicated to the film Lion, because I want this film to be the standard for the works I will accept later, I will not accept any film with specifications less than it, even if I had to stay away from the scene for ten years."

The artist replied to a question about whether the film "Lion" represents his return to cinematic competition saying: "Every stage has its circumstances, and every film I presented was suitable for its time, and it was not possible to present the film (Lion) during the time of (Abdo Mota) because this work is the result of the maturity and development I have reached today."

He added: "I am now 37 years old and I cannot present small films, because I am no longer as reckless as I was at the beginning."

Mohamed Ramadan spoke about the great support from the leading artist Yousra during the launch event of the teaser for the film held on the sidelines of the eighth edition of the El Gouna Film Festival, pointing out that her presence at this event holds great value for him.

He said: "The presence of Yousra is very important to me, as she is one of the first to have helped me in my artistic career, I started my journey with her in the series (In Safe Hands), and she recommended me to the director Yousry Nasrallah and the writer Wahid Hamed for the film (Tell Shahrazad), which was my breakthrough in cinema, and through it, I won the Best Actor award at the Alexandria Festival."

The artist expressed his gratitude to a number of stars who played a role in building his career, among them Yousra, Omar Sharif, Said Saleh, Hanan Turk, affirming that they all have a great favor on him.

The leading roles in the film "Lion" include a group of Arab stars, among them Majed El Kadwany from Egypt, Razan Jamal from Lebanon, Rakeen Saad from Jordan, Kamel El Basha from Palestine, and Mahmoud El Seraj, Islam Mubarak, and Eman Youssef from Sudan, and it is also the first cinematic work of director Mohamed Diab after his successful global experience in the series "Moon Knight" with "Disney".
