How does drinking matcha tea affect blood pressure

Khaberni - Some matcha compounds have blood pressure-lowering effects, including antioxidants like catechins, and amino acids like L-theanine.

However, according to "Healthline", the effect of matcha on blood pressure is usually mild and short-lived, and should not replace other treatments for managing high blood pressure. When consumed regularly, matcha tea may help lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of heart disease. This means that it can be a useful part of a healthy diet for the heart when consumed in moderation, from two to four cups a day.
How does matcha affect?

Matcha is a fine powder made from whole green tea leaves, and unlike other teas where the leaves are steeped, matcha is fully whisked in hot water, increasing the concentration of caffeine and other compounds in each drink. It is also added to desserts, cakes, and ice cream.

Many of the components of matcha have properties that may help lower blood pressure, such as catechins, a class of antioxidants that improve vascular function by protecting them from harmful free radicals.

Epigallocatechin gallate is the most abundant and effective type of catechin in matcha, and it may be up to 100 times more concentrated than in regular green tea.
The antioxidant effect on pressure

• Improved vasodilation: By reducing oxidative stress, the cells lining the walls of blood vessels become more capable of producing nitric oxide, a gas that helps vessels dilate and relax (vasodilation). This increases blood flow and lowers blood pressure.

• Reducing inflammation: Epigallocatechin gallate has strong anti-inflammatory effects and may help prevent atherosclerosis, a major cause of high blood pressure. It helps neutralize inflammatory cells that may infiltrate the blood vessels, leading to their hardening and narrowing.

• Cholesterol reduction: One of the components of matcha tea helps lower the level of low-density lipoprotein "bad" cholesterol that promotes plaque formation in the arteries.
