15 New Electric Buses Start Their Tours in the Streets of Amman Today

Khaberni - The Amman Municipality launches, on Tuesday, 15 new electric buses as part of its modern public transportation system within the municipality's borders.

The number of buses operating in the Bus Rapid Transit system and Amman Bus approaches 300 buses, including 175 for the Bus Rapid Transit system and 131 for Amman Bus.

The Bus Rapid Transit system is considered the first rapid transit system in Amman, offering a flexible and integrated public transportation service that allows citizens to travel quickly and safely. The system relies on high-capacity buses running on dedicated lanes, with frequencies as high as every 3 minutes, and includes modern and advanced stations.

The rapid bus system is designed to be part of an integrated public transport network, not limited to buses only, but integrated with a network of other forms of transport such as regular buses and small vehicles, aiming to deliver passengers to the nearest rapid bus station in the shortest possible time, reducing waiting times and enhancing the public transport experience in the capital.

It is noted that the total number of public transport users in the capital during the first quarter of 2025 amounted to about 7,208,228 passengers via the Bus Rapid Transit, and 3,593,044 passengers via Amman Bus.
