Shocking comment from George Clooney on the Louvre Museum theft

Khaberni - American star George Clooney lit up the AFI Film Festival with humorous remarks following his comment on the jewelry theft at the Louvre Museum in Paris, where he expressed admiration for the way the theft was executed.

Clooney described the perpetrators as "amazing in their precision of planning and their boldness," before jokingly telling the audience, "As a professional thief in my films, I feel proud of them."

Clooney, who is famous for his role as Danny Ocean in the Ocean’s movie series, added that the real-life incident could inspire the next installment of the series, jokingly saying: "Maybe we should start Ocean’s 14 at the Louvre itself… but it seems someone has already beaten us to it."

The Oscar-winning star explained that his admiration does not mean he condones the criminal act, but rather appreciates the professionalism of the execution, adding: "They executed the operation with brilliance and escaped at the perfect time, as someone who played a professional thief, I can only acknowledge that they played the game well."

He continued: "I think the directors should digitally add me to the security camera footage, I want to be one of them, even if it's virtually."

Last week, Paris witnessed a bold heist of rare royal jewels inside the Louvre, which took only seven minutes, and the perpetrators left on motorcycles, in a scene described by the French press as resembling a Hollywood movie.

According to investigations, the stolen items included an emerald necklace owned by Empress Marie Louise, along with a pair of earrings and a royal crown valued at over 100 million dollars.

In another context, Clooney revealed his next film project, announcing the return of the Ocean’s Eleven series with a new version focusing on the previous generation of the famous gang, starring Margot Robbie and Bradley Cooper, and he stated that this time he would merely enjoy the work as a spectator.

He said: "We have an excellent script and approval from Warner Bros, and filming will begin in less than a year."

The Ocean’s series is one of the most successful crime and comedy films in Hollywood over the past two decades, starting from the first installment in 2001 up to the female version Ocean’s Eight in 2018.
