Zain Platform for Creativity as a Strategic Partner for the Second Edition of the Makers Meeting

Khaberni - Within its extended strategic partnership with the Crown Prince Foundation, and as part of its continuous role in supporting creators, innovators, and the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the Kingdom, Zain Jordan through its creativity platform (ZINC), sponsored the second edition of the Makers Meeting this year, which was organized by the Crown Prince Foundation as part of the "Makerspace" program events – one of its programs – at the Al Hussein Cultural Center and Ras Al Ain Hangar.

The participation of the Zain Platform for Creativity (ZINC) in the Makers Meeting varied in its second edition, most notably a special corner where a number of creative youth showcased five final graduation projects specializing in textile manufacturing using digital fabrication technologies and tools, as part of the "Textile Academy – Fabriacademy" and "Fab Academy" programs under the Makerspace program of the Crown Prince Foundation, both part of the global “Fab” network, which includes more than 1,500 digital fabrication laboratories in 90 countries around the world, where the innovators participating in the exhibition had the opportunity to receive scholarships provided by Zain in July this year.

Zain Platform also dedicated a special pavilion for its program supporting Jordanian designers "Dezain Space," in which 14 supported Jordanian designers participated, showcasing their works and products to visitors, aiming to empower the local design sector and enhance its presence in the Jordanian market.

The Zain Platform for Creativity (ZINC) team also participated in the "Experts' Corner" at the meeting, which brought together a group of mentors to provide individual consultation sessions to the participants, in addition to their participation in a panel discussion titled "Empowering the Future of the Industrial Communities in Jordan," which included representatives from governmental institutions, investment funds, business incubators, and private sector, discussing the main challenges and future opportunities in the industrial entrepreneurship sector.

Zain’s sponsorship of this meeting is an extension of its constructive partnership with the Crown Prince Foundation and a manifestation of its firm commitment to promoting the concept of entrepreneurship, and supporting innovators, entrepreneurs, and makers in the Kingdom through its creativity platform (ZINC), as well as contributing to supporting national efforts aimed at enhancing the economic and social engagement of Jordanian youth, by expanding collaboration between the public and private sectors, where the meeting this year attracted more than 4,200 visitors including interested parties, innovators, and experts from various fields.

It is noted that the meeting included an interactive exhibition of innovations and products with the participation of more than 114 exhibitors from university students, startups, and designers, in an environment that unleashed creativity and experience exchange, and saw the announcement of 3 winning innovative projects at its conclusion, which were selected through visitors’ voting.

The meeting also showcased a series of experiences and success stories from numerous local entrepreneurs and innovators, through a series of knowledge and discussion sessions that addressed aspects of digital manufacturing, technology, sustainability, localizing engineering expertise, investment, building global companies, drones, and designing medical solutions. The meeting also hosted the international speaker Daniel Ingracia, who presented inspiring insights about designing and building open-source manufacturing machines (Open Source) and developing advanced innovative tools to support innovators around the world.
