Khaberni - Queen Alia International Airport welcomed, on Monday, the inaugural flight of Eurowings, the low-cost airline of the Lufthansa Group, thereby announcing the launch of a direct air route connecting the cities of Stuttgart, Germany and Amman.
This route marks the first of its kind for both the company and the destination; flights will operate with a frequency of one per week, with plans to increase to two weekly flights starting from December 2025.
The addition of Eurowings to the airline network operating through Queen Alia International Airport reflects the airport group's ongoing commitment to expand global access to Jordan and to offer broader travel options to travelers, thereby enhancing the kingdom's status as a growing center for tourism, business, and cultural exchange in the region.
The flight was received with the traditional water salute, attended by representatives from the company, the international airport group, the Jordan Tourism Board, Menzies Aviation Services, the ground handling agent for Eurowings, and the general sales agent of the company in Jordan.
The CEO of the Airport Group, Nicolas Deviller, said, "We are pleased to welcome Eurowings at Queen Alia International Airport, a new step in our continuous efforts to enhance the air connectivity of Jordan with key European markets."
He added, "As the low-cost airline of the Lufthansa Group, Eurowings offers travelers accessible and flexible options for exploring both Jordan and Germany, thereby supporting tourism and business traffic between the two countries."
