Khaberni - The head of the Amman Municipality committee, Yousef Al-Shawarbeh, launched on Monday the annual campaign "Amman Our Home," which aims to reduce the phenomenon of random waste being thrown from vehicle windows.
The campaign strives to promote positive and responsible behavior in handling waste inside vehicles, through the distribution of special paper waste bags for cars, encouraging the maintenance of city and environmental cleanliness.
Al-Shawarbeh stressed that the cleanliness of Amman is a shared responsibility between the municipality and the citizens, pointing out the importance of committing not to litter in the streets or from vehicle windows, and the necessity of maintaining the capital's civilized appearance through sustaining environmental and community initiatives.
The "Amman Our Home" campaign, which was launched by the Amman Municipality in 2010, is a community environmental initiative aimed at enhancing belonging and responsibility towards the city, in addition to raising awareness about the importance of reducing negative behaviors, such as littering from vehicles.
This year's campaign activities include the distribution of about 100,000 paper waste bags in various areas of the Amman Municipality, public facilities, transport complexes, and vital facilities.
