The occupation seizes 73 dunams of land in Ramallah Governorate

Khaberni - The Anti-Wall and Settlement Authority revealed that the occupying state seized 73 dunams of citizens’ lands in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate through five military orders called "Handover Orders" that were spotted today. These orders aim to impose new realities on the ground under the pretext of security and military purposes.

The Authority stated in its release that the first military order targeted 29.68 dunams of land from the villages of Kafr Malik and Deir Jarir, to establish a buffer zone around the "Kokhav HaShahar" settlement, numbered T/116/24. The second order targeted 12.612 dunams of land in the village of Deir Jarir, intended for a security road linking the "Kokhav HaShahar" settlement and Road Number 449, and was numbered T/118/24.

It added that the third order targeted an area of 2.203 dunams from the lands in the village of Taybeh east of Ramallah, to establish a barbed-wire fence on the road leading to the "Rimonim" settlement, and was numbered T/74/25. Meanwhile, the fourth order targeted 18.279 dunams of land in the village of Ras Karkar, aiming to establish a buffer zone around the "Talmon" settlement, indicating that this order is a modification of a previous one issued in 2006. This modification involved canceling parts of the earlier order and adding new areas to expand it, designating a total of 12.61 dunams of declared state lands to aid the military order governing the buffer zone around the settlement, numbered T/35/06.

The Authority clarified that the fifth order targeted 10.984 dunams of land in the village of Taybeh east of Ramallah, intended for a security road connecting the "Rimonim" settlement and Road Number 449, and was numbered T/43/25.

The Anti-Wall and Settlement Authority's reports indicated that the occupying state has intensified the issuing of handover orders for military purposes at unprecedented levels, with a clear intent to seize the largest possible area of Palestinian lands, and the implications such orders have in imposing new facts on the ground, especially in terms of buffer zones around the settlements.

It also mentioned that after October 7, 2023, the occupying state established, through a series of military orders, a total of 30 buffer zones (updated as of October 26, 2025) around a cluster of settlements, aimed at preventing citizens from accessing vast areas under the pretext of military orders, which paves the way for their permanent control in the future.
