He returned to her after cancer Yasser Farag reveals details of his return to his late wife

Khaberni - Yasser Farag revealed details of his return to his late wife after their separation, and about the last moments in her life and her struggle with cancer.

Yasser Farag talked about the behind-the-scenes of his personal life and the reasons for his return to his wife after the divorce, during his appearance on the show "One of the People" hosted by the journalist Amro El Leithy.

Farag said: "I was divorced from my wife before she fell ill, and we got back together when I found out about her illness, but I have never said this before."

He added, explaining: "We were separated for about 3 years, and after I finished filming the series 'Afrah Iblis', I traveled and spent 3 or 4 months with my brother in Sweden before resuming work again. We were separated but our relationship was very good, I was always in contact with her and the children, and kept up with all their responsibilities."

He continued: "While I was abroad, she felt unwell and spent a month visiting doctors and hospitals. When we found out it was cancer, I immediately flew back to Egypt, stayed with them at home, and we got back together."

He went on: "There were attempts to reconcile before the illness, but things were somewhat tense, so I hadn't decided on this step. As soon as this situation arose, I got in touch with her and her older brother since her father had passed away, and told him I was coming back home and would be there with them, and there was no disagreement on this point. As soon as we got back together, we began the treatment journey which was not easy at all."

Yasser Farag spoke about the details of his wife's suffering from the disease, saying: "Her cancer diagnosis was a huge shock to me and my children, and the treatment journey was very difficult and full of challenges, but the idea of giving up or despair never crossed my mind, I tried to be a source of strength for her and the children, and if I had collapsed, things would have been difficult for them."

He added: "In her last days, her condition was relatively stable, but, God is great, the illness returned, and she was admitted to the intensive care unit. The treatment protocol was not effective, so we switched to a stronger treatment with a low survival rate, which was a very tough decision. She received two doses, but her body couldn't withstand it, and all functions failed."

He continued sadly: "Her last request was that she told me to take care of the children and her mother, and she said to me that she forgave me, you made me love the illness," indicating his loyalty and support for her until the last moment.

Farag said: "After her death, I tried to be there for my children and give them all the support possible. I might have faltered, but I was adamant that they should not feel the loss of their mother or the pity from relatives or friends, that feeling was killing me."

He added: "Thank God we overcame the ordeal, and my children are my source of strength, and I am also their source of strength, even though my wife's death was an unhappy ending and the beginning of the unknown, and I don't know what might happen in the future."

He concluded his speech saying: "I wished I could send her a message to forgive me, and she forgave me and I forgave her, and I wished I could talk to her about many things, but time ran out and it was God's will."
