The sixth session of the "Spikelet" initiative in public schools concluded, which was launched by Al-Jood Foundation for Scientific Care in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and supported by the Arab Bank. The closing event was held at the Al-Hussein Cultural Center under the patronage of Her Highness Princess Alia Tawfiq the Printer.
During the event, 52 public schools from various directorates of the kingdom were honored for their excellence in implementing innovative educational projects with a positive and sustainable impact. Arab Bank's support for the initiative stems from its entrenched strategy in the field of sustainability and community responsibility and its deep belief in the importance of education as a fundamental pillar for building societies.
The initiative, which started in 2018, aims to foster the entrepreneurial spirit among teachers, encouraging them to find innovative solutions to challenges in the school environment and to implement them on the ground in cooperation with the local community. More than 2,200 public schools have participated in the initiative, where over 8,000 teachers received specialized training in the "Spikelet" methodology, in addition to granting 35,000 certificates to teachers participating in life skills sessions, contributing to the implementation of more than 4,000 projects benefiting over 800,000 students across the kingdom.
Commenting on this cooperation, Maher Qaddoura, manager of the Al-Jood Foundation for Scientific Care, said: "The real impact of the Spikelet initiative is evident in the success stories within schools and in the students' lives, where teachers have been the cornerstone of its success and role models in making positive change." Qaddoura expressed his deep gratitude to Arab Bank for its strategic support for the initiative, appreciating its active role in empowering teachers and achieving the educational and humanitarian goals of the foundation.
It is worth noting that Arab Bank began its strategic sponsorship of the "Spikelet" initiative in 2021, reaffirming its ongoing commitment to supporting the education sector and initiatives aimed at empowering educational staff and developing students' skills, in alignment with its approach to promoting sustainable community development through its diverse programs in the field of community responsibility. The "Together" program embodies this approach by supporting a variety of initiatives and activities that contribute to serving vital sectors including education, health, poverty alleviation, environmental protection, women's empowerment, and orphan care, through joint efforts with local community institutions.
