Khaberni - The Faculty of Arts / Department of English Language and Literature at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan organized a poetry seminar hosting American poet Phillis Levin (Phillis Levin), a professor at Hofstra University and recipient of several prestigious literary awards for her poetic works.
The seminar was attended by the Dean of the Faculty Dr. Musa Al-Zghoul along with a number of faculty members and university students who expressed their admiration for the poet's rich experience, and her intellectual and aesthetic views on poetry and its role in expressing the self and humanity.
During the meeting, poet Levin presented a distinctive reading of a selection of her new and old poems, showcasing her extensive experience that combines deep human sensibility with precise philosophical insight. She also discussed her relation with language, rhythm, and memory, and answered the audience's questions with a spirit of humility and deep knowledge, adding a culturally rich and inspirational dimension to the meeting.
In his welcoming speech, Dean Dr. Musa Al-Zghoul expressed his pleasure in hosting poet Phillis Levin, emphasizing that such literary meetings represent bridges for cultural and intellectual communication between peoples. He noted that poetry remains one of the most elegant forms of human expression for its ability to touch the emotions and craft human experience in a language of beauty and feeling, stressing the importance of these seminars in enriching the university's cultural landscape and encouraging students to be open to global literary experiences.
