Khaberni - Settlers, on Sunday, cut down dozens of olive trees in the village of Al Maniya, south of Bethlehem.
Zayed Kawazbeh, head of the Al Maniya village council, reported that settlers from "Ma'ale Amos," established on Palestinian lands, cut down olive trees planted across an area of about two dunams in a region known as "Al-Qarm," owned by the Palestinian Mahmoud Jabareen.
Kawazbeh added that settlers attacked the farmers in the same area on Saturday, and severely beat Jabareen, resulting in a broken hand, before the occupation forces arrested him.
According to the Anti-Wall and Settlement Commission, its teams have documented a total of 165 assaults against olive pickers since the beginning of the current season, with the occupation army carrying out 17 assaults, while the settlers executed 141.
The Palestinian territories face repeated attacks by settlers and the occupation army during the annual olive picking season, and farmers constantly face assaults and violations that prevent access to their lands, causing significant material losses and increasing their daily suffering under the occupation.
Since October 7, 2023, settlers have carried out a total of 7154 assaults against citizens and their properties, resulting in the martyrdom of 33 Palestinians in the West Bank.
The attacks by the occupation and its settlers have resulted in the uprooting, smashing, and damage of a total of 48728 trees, including 37237 olive trees, according to the Anti-Wall and Settlement Commission.
