Khaberni - Russian President Vladimir Putin announced today, Sunday, that his country conducted a successful test of an intercontinental cruise missile powered by nuclear energy, unparalleled in the world, according to him.

Putin visited one of the Russian military command headquarters, where he listened to a briefing from Chief of Staff General Valery Gerasimov, who said that the test of the new missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads was conducted last Tuesday.

The Chief of Staff clarified that the missile, named "Burevestnik", traveled a distance of 14,000 kilometers and remained in the air for approximately 15 hours.

The Moscow Times quoted Putin as saying that it is “truly a unique weapon that no other country in the world possesses”.

The revelation of this missile comes amid escalating tensions between Russia and Western powers over the war in Ukraine.

Putin stated on October 10 that the nuclear arms race had already begun, noting that his country is working on producing strategic weapons and may soon announce a new weapon in its nuclear arsenal.
