King inaugurates today the second ordinary session of the 20th National Assembly

Khaberni - His Majesty King Abdullah II inaugurates today, Sunday, the proceedings of the second ordinary session of the twentieth National Assembly, in its two parts (Deputies and Senators).
His Majesty the King will deliver the Throne Speech in front of the National Assembly, signaling the start of the meetings for the second ordinary session.
After listening to the Throne Speech, the Senate will hold a session in which members of the committee to respond to the Throne Speech will be chosen, then the House of Representatives holds a session under the chairmanship of the eldest deputy, during which the permanent office members (the president, the first and second deputies, and the assistants) are elected.
It should be noted that recent amendments to the internal system of the House of Representatives require that one of the members of the permanent office be among the female deputies, as stipulated in paragraph B of Article Seven: "If a woman does not win the position of president or one of the positions of the first or second deputy, the right to run for the position of one of the president's assistants is restricted to women, according to instructions set by the permanent office for this purpose."
After that, the House of Representatives elects a committee to formulate a response to the Throne Speech, in preparation for its approval by the Council and submission of the response to His Majesty the King within 14 days of delivering the Throne Speech.
It is expected that the Council will subsequently elect members of 20 parliamentary committees.
The royal decree was issued, on the twenty-eighth of last September, to postpone the meeting of the National Assembly in its ordinary session until the date of October 26, 2025. A royal decree was also issued calling the National Assembly to meet in its ordinary session, starting from Sunday, the twenty-sixth of this month.
