Khaberni - The Agricultural Lending Institution in Ajloun Governorate, during this year, granted loans amounting to 1.9 million dinars to support agricultural projects and empower farmers and women, contributing to enhancing sustainable development.
The branch manager of the institution in Ajloun, engineer Bashar Al-Nawafleh, stated that the loans benefited 422 farmers, and the collections amounted to about two million dinars.
He explained that the institution provides loans for various agricultural projects, starting from buying land and agricultural machinery, passing through financing animal production projects and processing agricultural products, reaching to support women and youth in rural areas through special loan programs that provide sustainable job opportunities and enhance rural development.
He said that the institution focused on financing projects that rely on the latest technologies, which contributed to increasing productivity and improving the quality and competitiveness of Jordanian agricultural products, in addition to providing small loans in rural areas that helped in reducing poverty and unemployment.
He pointed to the fact that the institution gave special attention to developing irrigation networks and water desalination stations, water conservation technologies, and protected agriculture, alongside providing technical and advisory support to farmers in cooperation with the public and private sectors to implement joint projects that achieve sustainable development.
