Shaer AlMillion announces on Sunday the list of 48 qualifiers for season 12

Khaberni - The Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority announces, on Sunday, the list of 48 poets who qualified for competition in the twelfth season of the "Sha'er Al-Million" program.

The program is produced by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority under the slogan "Our Poem is One", which is considered the most prominent event in the world of Nabati poetry at the Arab world level.

The ceremony, which will be held at Al Rahah Beach Theater, represents the official launch of a new season of the program, which has established its position as the largest platform to celebrate Nabati poetry and highlight the talents of poets from Arab countries and beyond. Poetry lovers are eagerly awaiting the start of live competitions at Al Rahah Beach Theater, where the journey to reach the Poetry Banner is renewed.

The first phase of the twelfth season saw wide participation, as the judging panel received more than 1200 poems from poets from 25 countries, all of which underwent precise sorting and assessment processes.

The judging panel's tours started in Riyadh, passing through Kuwait, Amman, and Muscat, reaching Abu Dhabi, with the participation of 959 poets, including 20 female poets from 19 countries, who presented a distinguished poetic performance in front of both the judging and advisory committees.

Five recorded episodes were broadcasted on "Abu Dhabi" and "Baynounah" channels, four of which covered the committee's tours that resulted in the selection of the top 100 list from 13 countries, while the qualified poets underwent oral and written tests presented in the fifth episode, in preparation for selecting the final list of 48 poets to be announced during the upcoming ceremony tomorrow.

The "Sha'er Al-Million" program, which started in 2006, is one of the most prominent Arab cultural projects aimed at preserving the intangible literary heritage and enhancing the status of Nabati poetry in the contemporary cultural scene, by supporting talented individuals and enabling them to connect with the Arab audience on a broader scale.

The total value of the prizes in the program is over 15 million UAE dirhams, with the first-place winner receiving 5 million dirhams of it, in addition to the title "Sha'er Al-Million" and the Poetry Banner, while varying cash prizes are awarded to the winners from the second to the sixth places.
